Ulica jest historyczna, bo przy tej ulicy mieszkali ojcowie panstwa: Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson (w jednym z domow napisal deklaracje niepodleglosci), Robert Morris (finansista rewolucji), a w jego domu mieszkali Jerzy Waszyngton oraz Jan Adams.
